It feels extra serendipitous that you decided to share this today! I've been having one of those discouragement-heavy weeks myself, and oh my goodness does that Lin-Manuel video help (as does this entire essay).
The points about the algorithms overall reminded me of Liz Pelly's Mood Machine, which helped me see my music streaming services (Spotify in specific) with clearer eyes. The narrowing of perspective, the warped incentives, how all of it stunts the things I think many of us really want from a shared society.

Remarkably brilliant creatures is another really good movie but with an octopus. And Project Hail Mary is great too. Three good ones at one time.
Project Hail Mary is another of my favorite movies from this year that really surprised me! A masterclass in sweet humor with a lot of depth.
